wow its been crazy!

what a crazy couple of weeks!  may is the busiest time of the the year!  i haven't managed to even check my blog much less do a new post.  but finally here it is!

this cake was for a bridal shower...the pink daisies were silk and i thought they topped the cake off really well!

this was a graduation cake obviously!  it was for one of my mom's friends from high school's son she also got 2 cheesecakes which i did not get a picture of :/ the cake was red velvet with cream cheese icing

ericka emailed me a picture of nick on his 4 wheeler and said that nick wanted his 4 wheeler on his birthday cake!  so i did my best to make it look like his..this was the first time i had done a 4 wheeler and it wasnt easy but nick really liked it!

the only instruction i got for this cake was she was 15 and wanted bright colors and maybe zebra so this is what i came up with!

this cake did not turn out as well as i had hoped. its not easy doing real life objects on cakes and thats what the party theme was so i did my best.

i really love this cake!  you can't really see it but beside the "a" is a tinkerbell silhouette with a wand and thats what all the pink stars are for!  pixie dust!

this cake said "here's to summer!"  it was for 4 kids who are obviously ready for summer!

these were mini cheesecake for a senior party...they were strawberry cheesecake and oreo cheesecake.  they are the perfect size with all the flavor of a regular cheesecake!

this was for the junior high principal..they had no special request for how the cake looked so i just went with apples!

this was for a sweet little girl graduating from preschool!

another graduation cake!

i LOVE this cake it turned out soo cute!

many of you are wondering what the heck is this?  jaylyns favorite drink is called the "duck fart" so here you go!

this was a grooms cake.  it was 6 layers total

another peace sign cake!  i have done so many of these but i try to make each one different!

this was one of 5 cakes for an 80th birthday for a farmer/rancher this was wheat...lemon cake with lemon buttercream

this was cotton...strawberry cake with strawberry buttercream

this was cowhide with kenneth's brand...vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream

a tractor...coconut cake with coconut buttercream

and here they are all together! the centerpiece was chocolate with chocolate buttercream..yum!

so this is all my cakes for the last 2 weeks!  i have been pretty busy kids, school and cake!  i am going out of town this coming weekend for a much needed break!  thanks for stopping by!

my baby boy is 5!!!

kollin marcus is 5 today...he really cant be that old can he?  surely not...5 years has just flown by and he is no longer a baby boy!  i think the best way to describe kollin is this...such a sweetheart with and extremely short fuse...he couldn't possibly be more of a complete duplicate of his dad! lol  hes not the first one to go chase bugs, hes a super picky eater, he cries A LOT, he can't sleep without the tv on, he gets really mad really fast, hes a mommas boy, he loves to rub my belly, his faves are superheros, dinosaurs, spongebob and mario, he hates storms and he hates to be away from home for more than a few hours.  but best of all hes a super loving super sensitive little boy!  i love him!  here are a few pictures...

for a while this is what he looked like all the time - paci and backwards hat! and just look
at all those curls!  he had gorgeous hair i miss it :(

a little older now but still a backwards hat!

no hat this time!

here he is with all his dinosaur friends!

love this picture! he looks so sweet :)

backwards hat...again!

kollin and daddy the 2 coolest guys i know! lol

happy 5th birthday kollin marcus!!

week of may 3rd thru may 9th

this past week has been ca-RAZY!!  i guess its because i was out of town last weekend and it threw my routine all off!  hopefully i can get it together this week.  i did manage to crank out a few cakes thank goodness...lol.  so here we go...

this week i had 2 texas rangers cakes which i have never done before.  heres the first one.  it was a red velver with cream cheese icing.  the frosting was super soft and a little hard to work with as i don't usually decorate with cream cheese because of the softness.  but i think it turned out well!

here is the 2nd one...i wanted to make it different because i don't like to make the same cake twice but all i did with it was make it blue :/ oh well

these are just some colorful flower cupcakes. the picture is no good because my batteries were out in my camera so i had to resort to my phone :/ oh well

this was a strawberry lemonade cake with cool whip(yes it was delicious!)  this was the first time i had made this and i think it turned out well.  i thought it would look nice garnished with fresh strawberries and lemons!

this is my first cars cake i think it turned out well.  there could have been more detail...oh the what ifs...

this is obviously a mothers day cake...it was supposed to be picked up on sunday but i got a call on saturday wanting to know if they could have it later that day and i hadnt even baked it yet! omg anyway i try to be flexible with everyone and sometimes it bites me in the rear but i got it done with minutes to spare!

and now the best cake of all!  it was my sons 5th birthday andhe wanted super mario bros so here it is!  its all fondant that i make so it tastes wonderful not like the kind you buy at the store!  yes i know that there is no mario or luigi to be found on this cake but i just couldn't figure it out...if i had done it with buttercream i would have been able to do the characters...just one of those things...he didn't care though he loved it!  i don't do fondant cakes for the public unless its like a wedding cake because im just not experienced enough with it and most people don't want it.

i also did a dulce de leche cheesecake and a turtle cheesecake which i failed to get pictures of..grr!  they looked wonderful and it was the first time i had made a turtle cheesecake and it looked awesome and i hear tasted awesome also!  well thats all for this week!

week of april 25th thru may 1st

this was a short week for me because i went to austin to my bfpv's (best friend por vida) wedding!  it was so much fun!! i did have to turn down a few orders which i do not like to do but it was unavoidable.  i made the grooms cake and drove all the way to austin with it.  so scary and i had a few minor freak-outs but it made it there in one piece!

i wasnt given any specifics on how to decorate this cake so i decided to go with an argyle design

spiderman and batman cookies

50th with some black and white swirlies on the side

and finally the grooms cake...honestly i was not happy with the way it looked but it didn't fall apart and it did taste wonderful...it was chocolate cake with mocha cream cheese icing
